Charitable Pharmacy Sign Up

This summer, Pre-Pharmacy Club started a unique volunteering project. And now we're taking sign ups for September and fall quarter!

Here are the details:

* Monday , Wednesday, or Friday we will be at the Charitable Pharmacy of Central Ohio, Inc. 200 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, OH 43215 (21-23 min from campus).
* Tuesdays or Thursdays we will be at Pharmaceutical Horizons 7100 N High St # 305 Worthington, OH 43085-2316 (13 min from campus).
* Saturdays are a once-a-quarter-thing and you will be notified when that is every quarter when we find out.

They are open from 10AM to 4PM everyday except Friday, and you can volunteer in 2, 3 or 4 hour time slots. On Fridays they close at 1, and volunteers will stay until 2:30 or 3ish.

If you are interested in volunteering, look at your class schedule and let us know when you want to volunteer! In your email, please state the day you want to volunteer each week, your starting date, and the time slot you want.

Five Guys Fundraiser
THIS Thursday: April 21st from 5-9pm
Take a copy of the flier shown (also found on the facebook page http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/group.php?gid=2984020371) and order your favorite burger & fries. Pre-Pharmacy Club will receive 15% of your purchases. The funds we raise will go towards programming and the OPA Annual Conference. Please help out and invite all your friends. Don't forget to take the flier with you!

2/15 Meeting

Our next meeting will be February 5th at 5:30pm in 021 Lazenby Hall. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Bauer. He is currently a professor for the Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine and conducts research in cardiology at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Please come and bring your questions!

1/25 Meeting

Our first meeting of winter quarter is this Tuesday the 25th at 5:30pm in 021 LAZENBY HALL. We will be having a panel of BSPS and PharmD students. Bring your questions!
The t-shirt order has come in and we will be passing them out at the end of the meeting. Hope to see everyone there!

Our next meeting is tomorrow Wednesday 11/3 at 5:30pm in 111 Parks Hall. Our guest speakers will be Joe Orozco (Ohio State) and Jamie Bero (University of Charleston- UCWV)and they will be speaking about professional school admissions and other topics. Hope to see you there.

10/20 Meeting

Don't forget that our 2nd meeting is tomorrow at 5pm in 111 Parks Hall! Dr. Hale will be coming in to talk about Generation Rx- an awesome student organization that ANYONE can get involved in. Come eat some snacks and enjoy a great time with fellow pharmacy kids :)

First Pre-Pharmacy Club Meeting of the Year!

We are having our first meeting of the year Wednesday, October 6. It will be held in Parks 111 at 5:00 pm. We are looking for everyone to come out, so we can let you know what is going on this year and talk about how you can get involved. See you there.

5/5 Meeting + 5/13 Bowling Event

Hi pre-pharmacy club members! Our next meeting will be tomorrow, May 5th, in Parks 250 at 5:30 PM. Jill Thompson will be coming to speak about the NEUCOM Pharmacy School and answer any questions you might have regarding their program.

Also, next week on May 13th we will be having a fun event off-campus going bowling at Capri Lanes. We have 3 lanes reserved for 9 PM. It will be $1.50 per game, plus $3.00 for shoes and $1.25 for pizza. If you need a ride, we will also be offering a carpool for those who do not have cars with them. More details will be provided at the meeting Wednesday, but please contact Rachel Hipp (hipp.16@osu.edu) if you're interested in going!!

Last Winter Qtr. Meeting this week!!!

Hi pre-pharmacy club members! Hope everyone's quarter is still going well. Our next pre-pharmacy club meeting is Tuesday, March 2nd at 5:30 pm in Parks 111. Bryce Love from the Medco filling center will be coming to speak to the club about his pharmacy experience. This will be the last meeting for winter quarter. We are currently finalizing details for spring quarter meetings, which will be posted within the next week or so. Project Linus

Hi pre-pharmacy club members! Just a reminder that tonight (Thursday, February 11th) we will be getting together to do a service project in which we will be making blankets for Project Linus. We will be meeting in the lobby of Patterson Hall (on the left) at 8 pm.

Tuesday, January 19th Meeting!

Hi pre-pharmacy club members! Hopefully everyone is enjoying the extra day off classes!! Just a reminder that our second meeting of winter quarter will be Tuesday, January 19th at 5:30 pm in Parks 111. Representatives from Kaplan will be coming at the beginning of the meeting to talk about an upcoming opportunity to take a free PCAT test. This is a great chance for any club members planning on taking the test to gain practice with the PCAT material. At this week's meeting we will be having a PharmD student panel present. The panel will include 4 OSU PharmD students who will be there to answer any questions regarding pharmacy school life, admissions, and so on, so try to prepare any questions you might have ahead of time. We will also be discussing upcoming bake sales and club meetings. If you have any questions, feel free to contact one of the officers!

Additionally, we will be planning a few fun events, such as an ice skating night and a trip to an OSU hockey game. We are also planning a service co-event with the Pharmacy House for the second week of February. It will be blanket making for Project Linus. Details for all these fun/service events will be provided when everything is finalized!

winter quarter kick-off meeting!

The first pre-pharmacy club meeting of winter quarter will be Wednesday, January 6th at 5:30 pm.
The meeting will be held in Parks 103.

Representatives from ASP-APhA will be speaking at the beginning of the meeting about their organization and ways to get involved with them. Additionally, we'll be having a movie night and detailing activities and meetings planned for winter quarter.

Holiday Party this Friday!

Just a quick reminder our last get-together for the fall quarter is this Friday's Holiday Party (December 4th)! The location will be the Donatos on High Street from 6:30-8:30 pm. Only members that have paid dues will be able to come. If you have not paid dues yet, you may do so at the party. You are also welcome to bring guests, but we do ask that you bring a dollar for each guest to help cover the costs of the event. There will, of course, be pizza, snacks, and drinks, as well as a white elephant exchange so please try to bring a gift worth approximately $10. Please RSVP as soon as you can to our SPARC officer, Alex, at deucher.4@osu.edu. Also, for those members that ordered t-shirts, they will be available to pick-up on Friday as well. Hope to see everyone there!

BW3's fundraiser is this week!

Don't forget, this Wednesday, October 21st, the OSU Pre-Pharmacy Club will be having a fundraiser at the BW3's at the corner of Lane and High. 10% of all orders, dine in or take out, will be donated to the Pre-Pharmacy Club! For all basketball fans, this is the day of the Cavs vs. Celtics game, so stop in on your way to the game, or bring some friends and watch the game there! If you want more flyers for friends or did not receive one, there is a copy below for you. Also, check out the OSU pre-pharmacy club facebook page to print it out or stop by Nikki Herbert's office in Parks Hall. Don't forget-- you need to present the flyer at BW3's for us to receive 10% of the order!!

A few quick reminders...

• Pre-Pharmacy Club T-Shirts are on sale until October 14th. The shirts are $15. If paying by check please make it out to The Ohio State University Pre-Pharmacy Club. If you did not receive an order form they are available in Nikki's office.
  
• This year the Pre-Pharmacy Club will be collecting dues from our members.The cost is $3 for the whole year. Dues will be used for fun activities for the year. These are also due on October 14th.

October 30th: Schott Clean Up
We need LOTS of HELP for this. We receive $300 for our club to do this and the more people there, the less time it will take. This money will be used to plan more fun, free, unique opportunities for you guys. If you can do this please email one of the officers. Time is TBA, but it is for a Disney on Ice performance so it should not be too late. Please contact Blake Toney at toney.44@osu.edu if you're able to help out.

Fun Activity for the Quarter...
Thursday, December 3rd: Holiday Party

This will be our last activity/meeting of fall quarter. The location is TBA and only members that have paid dues will be able to come. We plan on having food, a white elephant exchange, and some other fun activities. We hope everyone will be able to join!
